Range Etiquette: Help Keep the Range Safe and Enjoyable

A safe shooting experience starts with proper range etiquette. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or an experienced shooter, following basic range rules helps create a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment for everyone.

Always keep your firearm pointed in a safe direction and keep your finger off the trigger until you’re ready to shoot. Wear proper eye and ear protection at all times, and carefully listen to the Range Safety Officer (RSO). If a cease fire is called, immediately stop shooting, unload your firearm if instructed, and wait for further directions.

Be courteous to fellow shooters by keeping your shooting lane organized, cleaning up spent brass and targets, and respecting others’ space. If you’re unsure about a firearm, ammunition, or a range procedure, don’t hesitate to ask a member of our staff for assistance—we’re here to help.

At Caliber Gun Range, safety is our highest priority. By practicing good range etiquette, you’re helping create a welcoming environment where everyone can build confidence, improve their skills, and enjoy the shooting sports safely.

Whether you’re visiting for target practice, firearms training, or introducing someone new to shooting, following proper range etiquette ensures every trip to the range is a positive experience.
